Shop Policies

Welcome to my online shop! I am super excited to be able to offer my jewelry for purchase here, and hope that something that I have made speaks to you or is just the right thing to give as a gift, too. I do quite a bit of custom work, so if you see something here that you resonate with, but need it a little bigger or smaller, etc.,  please feel free to contact me with your specifics at stacie@stacieflorer.com.

Custom Work: The process is simple: you talk, I listen; I make, then photograph the result and send it to you, and we continue on until you are satisfied that what I made is what what you want. You pay for it, I send it...and you wear it! All custom and commission work is non-refundable and non-exchangeable. The photos I send you will be macro and actually, you can see my work better in a photo than in person, so by the time we agree that you like it, there shouldn't be any question about loving it when you receive it.

If I don't think I can fabricate what you want, I will let you know immediately. I will state here that I do not work in gold, I do not set faceted stones in prong settings like you find in a jewelry shop nor do I do wax casting work currently. The materials I use are sterling silver, copper, brass, flat sided cabochons and beads.

Payment

Ah, the money question. I try and keep it very simple here online.  My shopping cart uses Paypal exclusively. I have used Paypal for years, and am very happy with the protections they offer both you and me. I like that they accept all major credit cards, so even if you don't have a Paypal account, you can still use them. When you purchase, your screen will open to Paypal's site, and when your transaction is finished, you will be redirected back to my site.

Once you have completed your purchase, you will be getting an email from me letting you know that the purchase was completed, and that I am getting started on either packaging up your jewelry or am heading to my studio to make it. I am a big believer in communication!

International orders: I am not shipping Internationally at this time, other then to Canada.

I do accept checks, but in order to do that sort of transaction, you need to email me first and we will handle the transaction outside of Paypal. Usually, I will wait to send your jewelry until after the check has cleared, but I make that determination on a case by case basis.

Shipping and Sales Tax

I ship all of my jewelry in a sturdy USPS Priority Mail small video box. Once your item is shipped, if you live in the United States you can expect it in 2-3 days. If I am shipping internationally, you can expect receipt in 6-10 business days. There is a flat rate of $5.95 for shipping in the United States. In Canada, the flat rate is $12.95 and everywhere else it is $16.95. Shipping and handling charges are the same for 1 item or 10!

I collect sales tax if the purchaser is a resident of North Carolina.

I ship from the Paypal address that you use in the transaction. If I need to ship it somewhere else, please let me know in my follow-up email if there is any question. Please make sure that your address is correct!

I will send you the tracking information as soon as I ship it, so you can have it also.

Gift Wrapping

Picture
If you want your purchase to be gift wrapped, I will be happy to wrap the jewelry box that I ship all jewelry in and will address a card with whatever message you would like. My gift wrap is made from a watercolor painting that I did as shown in the photo. I wrap the box, and tie the bow with a piece of rafia. When you check out with Paypal, there is an option to include gift wrapping for $1.15 extra. The card that I use will also be made from this particular design. If the message is too long to put in the Message to Seller box in Paypal, just email me what you want me to write and I will be happy to do it. My jewelry makes a great birthday, anniversary, holiday or graduation gift!

Refunds/Exchanges

I have never had to give a refund in the 7 years I have been making jewelry. I am really proud of my track record! However, if what you receive is not what you thought it was going to be or you are unhappy with it, I offer a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of purchase. However, there is one caveat: you have to mail me back the jewelry on your dime. Once I receive it, I will refund your money if you bought it from my online shop. If you bought it from a retail store, please refer back to their store policy for refunds. But if you bought a piece of my jewelry from a retail store and are not happy with it, I do offer exchanges. Again, just mail me back the jewelry, and I will either make you something more to your specifications off of the original purchased design, or exchange it for something of equal value. I want you to be happy with your purchase either way. I make my jewelry because I love doing it; I am passionate about it, and I want it to go out into the world to happy owners.

Lost Earring Policy

If you lose one of my earrings, contact me about making you a replacement. I do this on a case by case basis, depending on the earring style, etc. I try to keep my materials at a minimum so I can easily reproduce designs. It's worth a shot, especially if they are your daily go-to earrings!

What does Made to Order mean?

Most of my designs are made to order. Which means, when I fabricate a piece of jewelry, I photograph it and write down how I made it so I can reproduce it when I get another order. I send my work out to a few brick and mortar stores, and if those designs sell well, I will put them up for sale in my online shop. I don't have product inventory made up, sitting around for it to sell here online. Materials are really expensive these days, and I since I am so small, it is much more economical for me to sell you a design when you are ready to purchase it then to just keep it in inventory. My turn around time is generally 2 days once I get the order, depending on my work load for the week. I don't have anything in my shop to sell that I don't have the materials available in my studio. Your piece of jewelry will be as close to the photograph you see on my site as humanly possible, but there will be slight differences in texture and of course, the beads if there are beads or cabochons used. Using natural materials means that there are slight variations, but I can honestly state that what you receive really will be one of a kind!

If I put something in my shop that I can't reproduce faithfully, like a piece of reticulated silver (always completely different!) or a piece made with a free form cabochon, then I will state that this piece is exactly the one that gets shipped, and it will most likely go to the post office on the day you order it.

How my shop will look on your statement and invoice...

Picture
If, like me, you are looking over your monthly bank/credit card statement and think, "I don't remember shopping with so and so..." because of the way they describe themselves, I want to show you what my logo will look like on your invoice and also what your statement will say when you purchase from me: PAYPAL*SFLORERJEWE
That is me...and with that...I want to thank you again for supporting the Handmade industry with your purchase. I started making my jewelry because I wasn't happy with the mass-produced fabricated merchandise that seems to surround us...I wanted to wear jewelry that was meaningful, thoughtfully constructed and that would last my lifetime.  Who knew this desire would change my life in such a dramatic way! I am a communicator, and if there is any one policy that sums up my philosophy regarding doing business is that of open communication!

Much love...and thank you again!
