Mixed Metal Origins Earrings
These earrings were born from a poem I read about the ruins left after the builders have departed.
I have this thing about relics and ruins, and the bronze disc in the back was purposely textured to give that feel of something that has been left to ‘ruin’. But when something is built well, with care, it takes the earth a long, long time to reclaim it.
I used to go metal-detecting with my mother, and the treasures we dug up out of the earth were always filed with holes with rich patina. And I always wondered about their origin stories.
These are made from bronze sheet metal and sterling silver wire. They have a nice, soft patina with a matte-ish finish.
Approximately 1 3/4" long including ear wires, width is approximately 1/2".
