I LOVE to write and you can follow what I’m exploring here on my journal and over on Substack.
Since June 2025, I’ve been journaling daily for two months, and I’ve come to cherish the clarity it brings.
There’s something about the quiet of the morning, reflecting on the day before, that helps me see what life’s teaching me.
My journal’s a space where I explore how those small, sacred moments shape my thoughts and ideas, along with the mundane details of my life too!
I’ve recently started sharing on Substack, where I’m aiming to write with a bit more structure as I connect with the community there. I hope what I share, both here and on Substack, resonates with you in some way.
Human Design: Values Based Decisions
I’m a Human Design Guide, and I’m starting a simple weekly series here. Each Monday, I’ll share the current Human Design transit of the Sun and Earth, and how I’m personally noticing it show up in real life. Human Design helps us tune into both our own natural rhythm and the shifting energy in the collective—and my hope is this space helps you do just that, too.

Sun: Gate 4, Gate of Formulation
Earth: Gate 49, Gate of Revolution
Transits for Week of August 11-17, 2025
This is a big shift in energy this week.
Personally, I felt it coming on yesterday. I'm working with someone very close to me who is feeling an overwhelming desire to reconnect to what is important in her life, and working all of the time is no longer viable.
She is trying to formulate a plan to change how she spends the majority of her waking life. Does she want it be non-stop and consumed with putting out fires? Or is she looking for a slower pace of getting her tasks done, allowing for a deeper analysis of a problem instead of feeling like she is trying to stay balanced on a spinning top?
Personal time and how she spends her working time has become her focus and she knows change must happen but how to communicate this to her superiors?
What do you value? Especially in how you choose to commit your time and resources as it pertains to using your gifts?
This Earth 49 energy of revolution is about an emotional re-evaluation of your values. There is an emotional urge to look at where your energy is going and does it align with your current principles and values?
Principals and values change over time. This energy is using the emotional juice of the Solar Plexus to bring an awareness of what has changed in that department and the Sun's energy of formulation is about applying logic and clarity over time to formulate a plan to implement what changes are called for.
Whoosh. Feeling that vibe yet?
Personally, I am feeling it as it pertains to my marriage. What has changed in our commitment to each other? What is important to understand about what we value now vs. what we used to value? What needs to change? We are both emotionally defined so this added ability to thoughtfully and logically look for a way through this re-evaluation is handy to have defined for us this week.
There can be a tendency to jump to an answer emotionally instead of waiting for the wave of emotion to settle out some. Jumping into an emotionally-driven decision is never a good idea. Wait for clarity first. Then apply logic for structuring an appropriate way through the decision.
I try to come up with a list of alternatives and then feel my way through what possible avenues of change can be that I respond to as a Generator.
Mental searching can get out of hand for answers, though. Being obsessive about finding a solution mentally can hinder your success. Relax and use your type and inner authority to formulate a plan of action.
Generators/Manifesting Generators: You'll feel the urge to re-evaluate what you have committed your energy to doing, and may feel emotionally driven to change something about your commitment. Ground this emotional urge to respond to any changes that come your way with your Gate 4's mental ability and ask the question, What's really the right answer here? Am I responding to just any opportunity? Or the right one for me?
Manifestors: Your feeling the urge to initiate a change based on your inner principles and values. Since it's emotional, get clear first about what you want to initiate and wait, wait, wait for that logical way of communication it before doing so. You want your answers to what you are trying to initiate to be reasoned and thoughtful so that the impact has legs to run.
Projectors: Your energy this week is about guiding others to principled clarity. Your ability this week to see where systems or people are no longer experiencing integrity with their process will be acute. Wait for the invitation to give your guidance and deliver your message in easily digestible bits. Big, revolutionary changes are emotionally driven...so be aware that a clear, concise and logical answer is needed here to balance out the need for change. Your answers need to be fertile, so they can be accepted. Wait to speak about what you see when asked. Otherwise it will be dead on arrival.
Reflectors: You will be picking up the disconnect in your community regarding a values/principles based shift. Look for the emotional angles people will be exploring as they look for answers to foment the shift in values. You'll feel the urge to anchor yourself to trusted authorities' viewpoints on the changes and how to go about logically implementing them in a balanced way. Reflect that back to your community when things get too emotional.
So lets recap this week's energy.
Sun 49 = Emotional readiness with values-based change
Earth 4 = Mental clarity looking for structured answers
Together, they ask us to:
Wait for clarity before making a change based on your values/principals so that you can logically explain why the changes are called for. Communicating the reasons are important and being clear about your why's are necessary to bring in the new changes.
Random fact about me: I love cold coffee.

Sun: Gate 7, Gate of Role of Self
Earth: Gate 13, Gate of Listening
Transits for Week of August 5-9, 2025
What a neat pairing for this week's transits!
Gate 7 is about the role of the self in a leadership or guiding role. This gate is about balancing the needs of the collective with the needs of the self. Gate 7 enables leadership that is natural and how individual's relate to the role of leading.
Gate 13 is about listening deeply to others and their stories. It's also the ability to confidentially listen without feeling the need to share someone's secrets.
What a great attribute to have in someone that naturally takes the role of a leader or guide!
This week, we all have this combination available to us. What does it look like?
I'm getting a little glimpse of the energy to listen intently to others as they relate some deeply emotional and personal information to me. I'm not really a part of any group where I get to respond to a leadership role that may be presented, but I'm definitely feeling the pull to listen intently, and to hold space for another that is going through an emotional challenge.
I love this energy, and am excited to see how I experience it the rest of the week. It comes online tomorrow, so here are some things to watch out for depending on your energy type.
Manifestors: You may feel a pull to jump in a group or collective effort to get something started, but lean in to what you are hearing from others as it pertains to their collected wisdom and possible direction they want to take.. This is a pause and reflect energy based on what you are hearing from those in the group before action happens.
Generators/Manifesting This week is about responsive leadership opportunities. If you find yourself in a group/team environment, wait to see what excites you before responding to the right role for your talents in leadership. Listen, a lot!
Projectors: Wow, you all are in for a great week! Wait for the invitations from those seeking your guidance for projects that involve steering the collective to a new place, and utilize your abilities to really listen to what is needed and be able to communicate the bigger picture to those that are stuck in task mode. This is your week to shine! Your energy is made for this!
Reflectors: You'll find yourself listening intently to others and observing the different leadership/guidance patterns that surround you this week. Spend some time in groups this week so you can grok the context that requires leadership for the goals of the group. You may find yourself mirroring what the stated objective is for the group you are involved with. Be careful not to over identify with others' emotional stories as the group seeks clarity.
Have a great week!
Random fact about me: I still have a writer's bump on my middle finger from when we used to write longhand!
Rediscovering Human Connection in the Digital Age
I sat in the airport yesterday for 7 hours, and had a total of 3 conversations.
I was among approximately 150 people. I had two conversations with the gate attendants. They frantically tried to get me an alternative flight because I volunteered to be bumped due to a weight restriction.
I was supposed to leave around 2, but ended up leaving at 9 PM.
I had another conversation with a woman sitting next to me. She laughed out loud at something she was watching on her phone.
But her laugh was so...unique. It sounded like a sound a mouse would make if it could laugh. She looked at me when she realized she laughed out loud and the look on my face disarmed her.
Then, she disconnected and we chatted for a while.
I watched as three groups of passengers came to the gate. Nearly all of them, maybe with 2 exceptions, were plugged in and cocooned.
We’ve gotten good at building little walls around us made of earbuds, screens, and disinterest.
Other than grouse about how collectively we've become zombies, I want to explore this in a somber, reflective way.
What is going on collectively?
I've given this a lot of thought.
I think it has something to do with what happened during COVID.
We all took a pause from each other for a very long time, not talking to others because...fear of germs, sickness and death.
Casual, spontaneous conversation was considered dangerous.
And devices stepped in and filled the gap.
A pause can be beneficial for any number of reasons. The pause is there to re-calibrate and reassess. But I think it has now become very distorted.
It's become normalized.
My evening wore on. I was waiting to get on a flight to Charlotte. The airlines provided me with a room for my next flight today.
We were supposed to start boarding at 7:45 PM. My app was saying it was time to board. But the boarding doors to the ramp remained closed.
20 more minutes pass.
Tick-Tock.
I noticed people were now emerging from their cocoons, and becoming agitated. I watched them frantically search their phones for updates.
Nothing.
The gate attendants started assisting those needing to adjust their flights. We had no way of getting to Charlotte on time.
A slow murmur started to build. It was alarming because it had been SO QUIET at the gate all day. There were 45 or so people starting to talk and it was getting loud.
The gate attendants finally came across the speaker and said the pilot hadn't given the signal to board yet.
They weren't really sure why.
The apps were not updating with new information, and now our apps were saying we were preparing for take-off.
Ahhhh....there it was. Humanity connecting again.
Our lives were no longer centered around apps telling us what's next. The digital distractions were no longer in play.
People were talking to each other, sharing stories of travel woes. I overheard a conversation between two couples. They figured out that they lived in the same neighborhood.
There's another story about meeting a neighbor at the airport, but I think it further illustrates my point.
My observation was that we started to harmonize to each other again. When the apps failed, when the oracle was down, we had to switch from digital to analog.
We were forced to be relational to each other and present to the moment.
That's what's beautiful about life.
It's spontaneous.
It's unpredictable and it's alive in a way that a digital existence can't give you.
We were finally able to board as soon as the pilot gave the thumbs up. It ended up, I think, being a lightening issue.
I was seated next to a young man. He was on his way to Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is living there now, but is from Staunton, Virginia.
He works in the same industry as my brother. They are in the same town, hundreds of miles away.
We were having a great conversation. We discussed how 40% of our food is wasted. It is thrown away every day.
We can grow enough food, but people waste so much of it.
He's running a company that's trying to put that food waste to a good, sustainable use.
Just as this connection was getting fascinating, the flight attendant interrupted us. She asked him to move to the middle of the plane because of a weight distribution issue.
And he was gone.
But that connection, although brief, gave me pause. It made me realize how valuable it is to connect to others when there is nothing you need to do.
Like waiting for a flight, or in a doctor's office, or in a line waiting for an experience to begin.
The silence of the device becomes the womb of re-connection. You never know what might happen when you step out of your cocoon.
You learn you're more connected than you can imagine.
It's time to re-emerge and engage again.
Balance out the digital and analog.
We've incubated enough.
Random fact about me: My favorite flavor is GT's Sacred Life Kombucha. If you've had it, you get what I'm talking about. It's my childhood in a drink.

Sun: Gate 31, Gate of Influence
Earth: Gate 41, Gate of Contraction
Transits for Week of July 24th-July 28, 2025
I just finished up watching Game of Thrones this week, so the Human Design transits were illustrated beautifully for me through that show.
Gate 31, the Gate of Influence, is one of my favorite gates. Influence and leadership, in general, is often misunderstood, especially by politicians.
True leaders are recognized, and once recognized for their ability to take an idea and logically lead others to manifest the idea or agenda, they are then democratically elected by those in the collective to take the role.
This is not leadership driven by the ego's need for recognition. In the show, Game of Thrones, Jon Snow is the leader that is recognized. He never wanted the title of king. He just cared about making sure the White Walkers didn't murder everyone in the world. He did what he needed to do personally to insure that the Dark Knight didn't win the war.
Daenerys Targaryen was a composite. She was recognized, then her ego kicked in and Jon Snow killed her at the Iron throne.
Brandon Stark became the King through recognition, and his ego was pretty much wiped out becoming the three-eyed raven.
Cersei Lannister was pure Ego. Boy, was she a piece of business. Ugh.
The entire show was a masterclass on leadership arising from Ego or Recognition, and how that dance between ego and recognition to lead others towards an ideal oscillates.
This is paired with Gate 41, the Gate of Contraction.
This energy is about the emotional juice required to start something new. But it requires contracting that emotional energy enough so that a focus can emerge. Emotional energy is very powerful, but to start something new, one has to get rid of the distractions and get a singular focus to begin.
This means start small with just the essentials to start a new chapter in your life, or begin a project.
This blog is the result of me moving through this energy field last year. I had this seed of an emotional pull to begin writing again on a blog, but I wanted to simplify the container. It took me almost a year to finally decide to focus on writing daily about my life, merging personal insights into the collective field of awareness. You'll notice there aren't any distractions on this site, and I am just focusing on what is essential to write daily.
Together, Gate 31 and Gate 41 are calling us to start something new only if it really matters, and consider taking on a leadership role, but only when others are genuinely asking you to.
Generators/Manifesting Generators: Wait to respond to new ideas about a project, and be aware of feeling the pressure to step into potential leadership roles. Watch out for initiating stepping into a leadership role and not waiting to be asked. Wait to be asked, wait to respond; if emotionally defined, wait some more and make sure your body is giving you the go ahead. What are others asking of you right now? Is something calling to you to begin?
Manifestors: You're stuck between a rock and a hard place this week. Your natural inclination to lead and initiate is being slowed down by understanding that you need to be asked to lead first, and there needs to be a recognition from others that you are clear-minded in the group objective. You'll experience emotional pressure to start something new, but wait for it to align with your deeper feelings on whatever this thing is. It needs to be emotionally true and grounded in reality before you open your mouth to get something started.
Projectors: Your big question this week is, "Who is inviting me to guide a new process?". You all are great at guiding others, but only when recognized for your skills and knowledge about a subject or system. This energy may bring some emotional pressure to act on your creative visions, but this pressure needs to be tempered with patience to wait for the right platform before you act. Rest and wait for the right invitation, the right recognition. The seeds are there, but they need fertile soil to sprout or they won't grow.
Reflectors: This week brings the topic of leadership into your world. Who is leading from Ego and who's being recognized for being aligned and clear in their ability to lead? You are tapping into this feeling from the collective to start something new, but it's still in its infancy. People are stirring with this urge to 'do something', but questioning who can lead them in their desire for something new.
This week asks all of us to consider how we use our voice, our direction, and our dreams. It’s not about charging ahead and doing something to relieve the pressure to act; that's reckless and won't be fruitful. It’s about being recognized, and THEN choosing to act or not based on your inner authority, and starting only what matters.
Last week's energy was in alignment with where I'm heading this week. I was ready to get to of town last week, but I literally had to attend to the mundane details of life to prepare for the trip. I'm leaving for Arkansas on Wednesday, then driving to Colorado.
My grand adventure this summer will be documented on this blog daily, with photos, and I'm excited to see what happens and what I learn.
Random fact about me: My favorite scent to wear is Arrogance, which is a men's cologne. I like to pair it with White Shoulders, a very old scent that is floral. Smells delicious and I always get comments.

Sun: Gate 56, Gate of The Wanderer
Earth: Gate 60, Gate of Limitation
Transits for Week of July 18th-July 24, 2025
This week's transits are pitting us against wanting to have a grand adventure, but resigned that the laundry is dirty and needs to be washed before you can head out the door.
I wrote a post about turning your waiting room into a classroom on the 18th, and actually, that post sums up this week's transit in a way that I wasn't even aware of when I wrote it.
This energy feels like wanting to move to Aruba after a vacation there for the vibe, but first, you have to sell the house, sell your stuff and attend to the limitations of where you are now before you can begin the life that you imagine.
Maybe you just need to go to the community pool right now instead!
This week's energy pressures us to look back on our lives and regale the high points of previous adventures. What did I learn? How did that experience shape me into the person that I am now?
This week's transit asks us to go within after we've expressed what came before and consider whether or not this story still fits in our lives.
It feels like a jumping off point, but first, you have to make sure that where you are jumping fits into the story of who you are now.
What limitations do you have to contend with before you try and leap? Is the timing right?
Shayne and I were talking over the weekend about ditching the house and going back to a more nomadic lifestyle, renting instead of owning, wandering instead of being fixed. The conversation started with me reading to him my post about the bear.
But, is that what we really want? We feel the need for more adventure in our lives, but maybe we can just rent an Airbnb for a month at the coast, work from there, knowing we have a home to come back to once we get the wanderlust out of our system for a while.
In our past, we went all in, traveling around the world for 20 years.
But is that really what we want or need now?
This energy prompts us to understand we can work within the limitations we currently have to meet that need for change and stimulating experiences.
Generators/Manifesting Generators: You've got a lot of stories that need an audience, but you've got to wait for the right question to respond to before you spill your epic tale. Or you can write about it and push Publish like I did this week about the bear and see where it lands!
Manifestors: You want to start a revolution, but may be confined by red tape, so you decide to start a podcast instead. Work within your limitations creatively. You've got stuff to say, but feel stymied by the mundane practicality of going by the rules, red tape, or logistics to express those stimulating ideas. This is more of an incubation period for you.
Projectors: This week is about refinement. You've got great stories to make your point in guiding others to a new insight, but you've got to wait until someone asks you. This week is a good time to refine those metaphors and have them ready for your next invitation to share your guidance and wisdom.
Reflectors: You may be feeling like you're on a movie binge, with all the stories you're hearing from those you come into contact with. You feel the collective desire to make some changes, but may be wondering why it's not happening as quickly as it should. Just enjoy the show! Change is working its way through the collective and real change will come when certain limitations are worked through.
How I experienced last week's transit of Facts and Faith
Last week, as I review what I felt compelled to write about, I see that I went into much more detail about how I view gratitude, compassion, and worship by gathering my thoughts and beliefs slowly and deliberately. Lots of inner examination about what's hard to express when I think I understand what something means, but on reflection, I have misinterpreted it.
When you don't have the words, zip it until you do. For me, writing helps me find the words and slow down my thoughts enough to recursively interact with different parts of my psyche.
All good stuff and writing daily is a great way to track how I interact with the collective transits. I feel like I'm now part of the collective instead of separate.
The surprising thing about getting older, for me, has been this feeling that life is moving on ahead without me in a subtle way that I've not experienced before.
Writing daily and reflecting about my life and experiences is helping me feel like I'm still in the game.
Thanks for playing!
Random fact about me: My family calls me Statsie-Boonay.
